Some Important Stuff!

The pups have returned to school and jumped right back into the routine!  

Yesterday you should have found your pup's 1st quarter report card.  Please review and keep the report card, but sign and return the envelope.  I will send home invitations for conferences NEXT Wednesday.  







Tomorrow, Friday, October 26, tracks 2 and 4 2nd grade will be having our Storybook Character Parade.  The rest of the school will be doing it next week, but we will be on a field trip (see information below).  Parents and younger siblings are invited to come too and dress up.  Anyone participating should dress up as a character from a storybook AND bring that book to carry during the parade.  Students may choose to bring a cahnge of clothes if they want, but that is not necessary. 

Next Tuesday, October 31, we will be going with track 2 on our ONLY off campus field trip.  We will leave Brassfield by wcpss school bus (big yellow limo) around 9:30 AM and arrive at Historic Oakview Plantation around 10:00.  The class will participate as a whole group in 3 areas around the farm to learn about how life was in the past (Social Studies).  Each program lasts about 40 minutes so we should load the busses and head back to Brassfield around noon.  When we return to campus, about 12:30 PM, students will eat lunch in the classroom.  If your pup buys lunch, they will have the opportunity to go through the lunch line when we return.  As this is about 45 minutes after our usual lunch start time, and we will not have snack on the field trip, please make sure your pup has a hearty breakfast.  They should also watch the weather and dress accordingly (light jacket, sneakers, etc.). 
     Chaperones for the field trip...This place is great!  There is NO charge and NO limit for chaperones.  You would have to ride in your car or carpool behind the busses or meet us at the plantation.  I also need the names of any chaperones ASAP.  Please email if you are planning on joining us.  I know many of you let me know before track out, but I need an updated list in case there are changes.  

Our classroom needs:  
flexible seating seats (small stools) 
yoga mats, smallish yoga balls, etc.)
dry erase markers (thin different colors)
individual snacks for kids that forget once in a while.
